Tea and therapy with 'Why Not Now?'

When I gave you my Play Date report last Tuesday, I talked about sitting down to tea with my page, specifically the 'Why Not Now?' page. And the program itself. Which is not as confusing as it might seem.

After I brewed some licorice tea, we got down to talking.

Actually, as I said, I did a lot of the talking, kind of like imaginary therapy.

And how do you feel about that?

me: Hey there, page. How's it going?

'Why Not Now?:' …

me: Well, you know I need to make some changes* to you, the page, changes that are literal, like the price, but also changes in how I talk about you, the program, that I hope will in turn change how people see you, and whether they see themselves becoming part of you or not.

WNN: Yes, go on.

me: I want to make it clear that this isn't a get-your-ass-in-gear program. A just-do-it program. That it's more about a person's relationship with her project than with just getting it done. That the answers are within.

WNN: Yes …

me: That I'm more of a facilitator, a co-conspirator, than a teacher. That I'm creating the space for it all to happen, but the amazing people in 'Why Not Now?' -- they're the ones making the changes.

So … I'm not sure what I wanted to ask you now!

WNN:  …

me: Well, how can I make all that clear on you, the page?

How can I be sure that you'll call to the people who are ready, and the people who aren't -- they'll know, and they'll wait until they are ready -- ?

I don't have prerequisites for you, the program.

I don't want to create an application process for something that's only two weeks long (even if it's a jam-packed two weeks).

All I have are words.

Live it.

me: So how can I do this?

WNN: By acting like a sovereign person, by living it.

When you talk about me, the program, you have to embody it. When you're writing about it, you have to invoke the spirit of sovereignty to guide you, to permeate you.

me: Hmm. Is there something that will surprise me about you, the page?

WNN: The ease. You'll be surprised at how easy it will be to rewrite me.

[Actually, that's true.]

me: Is there something specific that you'd like to remind me about you, the page?

WNN: Breathe. Throughout this whole process, breathe.

me: Uh, okay. But is there something more, you know, concrete? Like, change the font size, or something?

WNN: Give me love. You've been looking at me sideways, like you do with all your class pages. Look at me straight on, and look at me with love.

me: [Busted. Dang.]

The flipside.

me: So, are you, the program, going to be important to my business this year?

WNN: Well, what do you know about wanting me to play such a significant part in your business?

me: I want a confirmation that I'm going in the right direction and … I guess it's about uncertainty.

Because if your answer is, yes, I'll be a major part of your business, then I'll have to ask, for how long? And will it be enough?

So, I guess what I know is I'm uncomfortable with uncertainty.

I mean, no one likes uncertainty, but … the flipside is that when things are uncertain, you can be surprised in a happy way.

When things are uncertain, almost anything is possible, even things I could never imagine.

When things are uncertain, I'm not locked into one course of action.

And that went on.

Not that I was trying to see the silver lining, just … to see it from a different angle.
